But what is the "business end" of a refrigerator?
If you can't work that one out, give a couple of examples of items with a business end!

I suppose the business end of a fridge is the front where you get at the food, rather than the back where the cooling agent is. Like a gun.
Cricket bat, pen, nail-clippers, desk.
Tom.

This is one phrase that confuses me frequently.
Is the "business end" the part where the business is done, in the case of a gun that would be the lock, or with a fridge the compressor, or where the business is actually delivered - the end of the barrel of the gun, or the refridgerator cabinet itself?

I am getting a wicked idea about a chapter in a novel that crazily over-uses this adage.

As with virtually all of my puzzles, there's no one single correct answer. I am trying to set lateral thinking puzzles that allow scope for wild imagination.
